After three weeks of PTU updates, Star Citizen 2.0.0 finally went live today and can now be played by everyone.

What's the big deal with this one? It is the first step to the Persistent Universe they are building towards. So this version contains multi-crew ships, first-person-combat, a huge map with different space stations, pirates, and missions to play. The full patch notes are available here.

And the best thing: There is still a free flight week going until Monday, so everybody how wants can test it out for free :-)

I did, costed me 8 minutes ;)

Looking good sofar though alpha worthy as in i barely manage to get in my plane before i crash or get disconnected.
FPS is horrible too, was 100+ in the dogfight module and now i barely hit 30 no matter what graphics settings.

Still, for an alpha its looking awsome and i cant wait to see a further developed version :)

Yeah, the low FPS is one of the bigger problems at the moment. As far as I know it has not much to do with your machine or settings, but because of some server issue. So your client is waiting for some server messages (which is probably shouldn't), that slows down the whole pipeline. I hope they will get it working soon.

So far I like it. FPS in the PU is a bit of a problem (don't seem to have them in AC) and general network stuff (rubberbanding, server stability) is another. Crashes are not that bad, at least for me. I have some, but it was reasonable stable when I last tried it (flew a Coni together with Baehr). And I like the new flight model. It seems to be a lot easier to aim with my Delta, at least in VS, and the ship feels less twitchy. I liked the mosquito feel of the last flight model, but this seems more "realistic", which I think is good. They only have a bug in the coordinate systems which leads to constant red/black-outs, but I guess that will be fixed soon.

I thought I could start the download last night and switch off my machine this morning.
Nope. 4.9GB from the finish line the download stopped for unknown reasons. After hitting pause and restart it worked fine though...
So, maybe I can get to play some this evening if/when I survive the christmas party at my sons school ;)

After being away for a long time I am back(atleast back for SC as soon as we can start playing as an outfit).

My questions to people looking to get into SC is this:
Are we going to team up and play as an outfit in larger ships(working as crew)?
What ships do people allready have?
What ships are people planning on getting for themselves?
What are peoples thoughts on extended missions/exploration as an outfit?

Looking forward to playing with everyone again :-)

1. definitely :-)
2. quite a lot, single and multi-crew. Pete and Baehr have probably something like 5-6 multi-crew ships between them afaik and there are others as well. Personally I have only single seaters, mainly an Avenger Warlock and a Mustang Delta.
3. right know I'm planing on a Vanguard and a Sabre, and let's see what else.
4. sounds good :-)

Sweet

Sounds like there will be some good stuff happening as soon as SC gets a little more content.
I will be bringing with me some friends into the outfit for SC if they pass the application process ;-)

With my ships I will be adding a little to the multi-crew ships aswell, so far I have a fully equipped Endeavor(missing one module),
I guess it will be taken out if we are going for some extended missions with more people.
I also have a Retaliator(nice escort ship if I can get someone to man the guns), a P-52 Merlin and a Mustang Beta.

Not the biggest fleet, but I am sure we can come up with a use for them all :-)
